How to Stop Your Cat From Waking You Up in the Mornings?

written by meowpassion
How to Stop Your Cat From Waking You Up in the Mornings?

Cat owners know how many tricks their charming cats use to wake their sleeping owners up in the mornings to serve Their Majesty. Meowing loudly for attention by their owner’s ears is one of the most gentle. Claws and teeth are used, cream jars and long-desired perfumes received on a birthday get knocked off a dresser, a Money tree decorating your window sill is eaten with a loud chewing noise. How can you train your fluffy friend to behave properly in the mornings? To do this, you need to know your cat psychology a little and understand why your cat behaves in this way.

Night hunting

This is the most difficult option. In the case of some cats genetics dictates actions to be taken, and their organisms shift into an ancient time mode, when cats slept during the day, and went out hunting for food in the night.

How can you solve this?

Cat owners should undertake complex actions such as preparing a heavy dinner and even leaving dry food in a bowl for breakfast. You can also a offer free exit from your bedroom so that your furry friend can freely reach their tray, food, or toys. A special cat door might help if you live outside the city and let the animal out into the yard.

Of course, after work and household chores, not every cat owner is ready for active games with their cats late at night. However, a cat wand and a chase interactive laser toy will be helpful.

Sensitive soul

Various sounds such as birds tweeting in the morning, loud conversations of caretakers, and others attract your kitty’s attention. It is very important to them that the leader, that means their owner, gets up and controls the situation in their territory.

How can you solve that?

Cat owners should not react, and in many cases this is the best solution. Taking your 4-legged friend and wrapping yourself in a blanket might also help. If your kitty shows signs of strong neurosis, see your vet to discuss your concerns.

Being hungry

Some cats have enormous appetites. And if they don’t get a bowl full of their food at five in the morning, they think the day was a total loss.

How can you solve that?

Cat owners can provide food for evening hours or buy an automatic cat feeder and set meal times. Remember to plan portions and calories carefully so as to not overfeed your pet.

New routine

You have just relocated, asked your family to take care of your kitty while you are on holidays or business trips, your are renovating your apartment or house, have taken another pet or a baby has just arrived, or your child has simply started playing the piano, and your cat might see these changes as a new routine and disorganisation within their territory.

How can you solve that?

Be patient, time will pass, and everything will be fine.

Diseases

Unfortunately, morning attacks can also be a sign of diseases such as urolithiasis, very common in cats, arthritis and arthrosis, problems with the spine, headaches or migraines that are caused by weather changes.

How can you solve this?

Do not punish your kitty, especially senior cats. Contact your vet and discuss whether or not your fluffy friend needs to be examined.

General recommendations

First, try to ignore demanding meowing in the mornings. Cats who love throwing perfumes and creams from shelves or eating plants can be kicked out of the room and moved to where they cannot show their mannerisms.
